HAZARDS, HANDLING AND STORAGE
The material is irritating to eyes, skin, and respiratory passage. It is sensitive to heat, combustible, and oxidizing. The higher the ambient temperature, the higher the rate of decomposition, and spontaneous decomposition may occur above 70°C in restricted heat transfer conditions, e.g., in the supply container.
Contact with concentrated acids, alkalies, reducing agents, or dirt, rust, and metallic dust may also cause spontaneous decomposition. Under confinement, it poses an explosion risk.
Fire may be fought with water or dry chemical powder. Use safety goggles and hand gloves while working with the material to avoid contact. In case of accidental contact, wash skin with large amounts of water and soap. In case of contact with eyes, wash thoroughly with water or better with an aqueous 5% solution of sodium ascorbate or an aqueous 2% solution of sodium bicarbonate.
Store TBPB in a cool, dry place below 30°C. Avoid direct sunlight, rough handling, and store away from reducing agents listed above.
